Mag.arch.Ing. Maria Schmid Miejska
was born in Zbaraz, Poland in 1932. She studied Architecture at the Academy for Fine Arts, Schillerplatz, Vienna. Together with her husband Prof. Peter Schmid she got interested in Yoga and Indian Philosophy. This led her to study Indology at the University of Vienna. She was the first Yoga teacher at the University Sports Institute, Vienna.
